the lady looked out of the window
When I go to the end of the corridor, I always turn a chair round so I can see outside. She used to always turn them round to look up the corridor. She rarely sat in her chair for long, and I immediately would turn that chair round to face outside.
This stand off has been going on for a bit. But amazingly this afternoon she sat in the other chair looking out of the window. I immediately started talking about the birds, the diversity of the trees, the possibility of seeing deer, etc and she stayed and maybe listened. Anyway she then departed without moving the chair.
It was hard work, but to make any progress with her is amazing.
