strategy in dealing with staff
I took an opportunity to discuss strategy in dealing with service staff, after the lady complained about a server taking away her plate, before she could anything about it.
I basically stated the game theory strategies, for both once off and repeated games. I explained why they treated her badly, and why they treated me so well. The far eastern lady was part of this.
It clearly was totally contrary to her 'class' view of life, and probably a shock to be overruled by the two most sane patients.
Anyway I was pleased to be able to do something to support the staff, who take a lot of flack from her, and don't have any positive approaches for improving the situation. Now I cannot really judge how I am doing, but it cannot be as disasterous as her track record.
