When I fail to hear, I state I did not hear properly, and repeat quite loudly, so she can hear, how I heard it.  This is normally pretty much gobbledigook.  But that is fine.  She then struggles to construct something out it, and then I conclude that I have absolutely no idea what she is saying. She then normally shuts up.

So I can be seen as being as helpful as I can, while actually exposing her meaninglessness.

Normally her victims will effectively mumble their agreement with her,  without having heard or understood anything.  So my helpfulness and clarity completely foxed her.

Today she was pretty rude to the servers, but because she tends to push things away from herself if she feels like it, she actually had her food all cleared away before she could come back to it.  So she had nothing to eat as well.

I cannot see that she will learn any way other than the hard way.  Most of the dementia patients are perpetually falling asleep.  She never does,  so whatever illness she has, I do not think it is dementia.  Her walking is confident, strong and quite speedy. She is always alert.

These sessions are quite open, so visible and audible, and I hope will allow some others to realise that they could use these tactics themselves.
