She doesn't like listening.
I think this is a good way of categorising her behaviour. So she stone walls one, when you try and talk to her. And she blathers nonsense at you to reduce chance that you might reply.
It only convinces me more that she is stone deaf. One could manoevre around behind her, and shout something, but I don't have sufficient interest at the moment.
When I was describing the wildlife out of the back window, she was very quiet. I now think she heard nothing, and could not see my mouth move. At least I tried.
