making do ...

I guess that care homes really want docile, easy-to-care patients, and certainly don't want do-it-yourself entheusiasts.

.Whereas  I want to stamp my room with something of me.  Presumable some primitive instinct to preserve my lineage.

It is incredible frustrating because my room is devoid of useful bits and pieces. Currently I want some bits of string or equivalent.

I think I am writing this to stimulate my creative juices, but aint working at the moment.  Dental floss?  Shoe lace spare?   Strips of cardboard packaging (good for places that are hidden, and particularly post Christmas).  toilet paper? Create a new point of attachment, ie a heavy weight on a hidden horizontal surface? Eg a big book.

It is the string that is difficult, but now we might not need so much of it.  Strips cut from a plastic bag? Cutting implements are not so easily available.

I think I have now solved my problem, but now the home has mislaid the calender.  Any way.  big flat book on top of wardrobe, spare shoelace from heavy shoes as the hanging cord.  Bingo.
