black salt grit for roads
I always think that salting the roads could be faster acting. The relatively clear salt crystals probably reflect or ignore the sunlight that falls on it.
It seems to me that you should basically colour the grit black. This would absorb any sunlight and speed up the melting processes.
This could be achieved in numerous ways. Just find some production waste product, and mix.
Yes, you may get a few complaints from householders, but I doubt if it would be significant.
