e = mc squared almost.
e = mc squared almost.
following on the idea of mass being a hole in the sea of higgs, I thought that it might be fun to see what
creating a mass, ie a hole would do. I assume that the sea would get pushed out at the speed of light, and
therefore the energy would be equal to the volume/mass times c squared times a half.
Obviously I am a bit miffed at the half.
The difficulty is that the hole itself has potential energy as well. getting rid of the hole creates the opposite
scenario, with the same half energy. So wave your hands and add the kinetic energy and the potential
energy together and get e = mcc.
well its a nice thought.
