Why was the big bang not a black hole?
Black holes are about gravity rather than mass
If gravity existed at the point of creation then one would have expected it to be a singularity. Clearly it was not.
So perhaps gravity is something that only developed over time. Maybe mass also only developed over time.
One feels that this should not be a shocking thought given that we think the expansion of the universe is accelerating. It is just a pity that the directions are opposite. Maybe we have passed peak gravity, and it is slowly reducing ( or becoming more negative in the large scale).
Might this actually release the existing black holes over time?
One could see this in terms of particles, and those types that provide mass and /or gravity may not have formed early on and but are now dying off.
Fun
